Ask HN: How much better has Fable been at design, really?

Hi Hacker News. We all know about the coming and going of Claude Fable. On X/Twitter, I have been seeing a lot of discourse about the great new capabilities it has, specifically for UI and design and game development.

However, I suspect a lot of this is really just because we have never tried to attempt this with Claude Opus 4.8.

For example, the Three.js scenes I keep on seeing: I feel like they could have been attempted with Opus 4.8 with just a bit more effort and prompting? For example, while Fable created the paper airplanes for my landing page https://quillium.bryanhu.com/ I managed to get Opus to create the smoke effect, inspired by https://x.com/hayashimon1/status/2064658158698782873 (which was created by Fable)

I suspect a lot of these capabilities are because of how "relentlessly proactive" Fable is??

What do you guys think?

imo it can keep a design system together much better without veering off into random tailwind classes constantly. One shot ui is still ehhh
