The use of the word "boots" in the article title seems intentionally obfuscating. I was excited that macOS 27 was letting users boot into Asahi Linux from the os directly.

This kind of pun is standard for The Register but yes, it is confusing.

I like lexical ambiguity more than most people.

The advice for Asahi Linux users is not to upgrade to macOS 27 until the issue is resolved.

Does Apple see it as an issue? This can be easily framed as an advantage: see, we hardened our bootloader, security goes brrrrrr.
