Ask HN: Best practices when recruiting usability participants?

Even with substantial screening, Craigslist brings in professional testers so I wanted to experiment with Google and Facebook Ads.

I have the time to screen, but getting enough people to express interest and apply for the test is what concerns me.

Anyone have advice or tips when trying to recruit participants for usability tests?
