I have some exposure to this domain, and this headline is (surprise) not really all that factual. We have been using AI for decades to help generate and refine medical solutions of all types. It may well be that this effort uses some novel technique that makes it the 'first' to do so, but it's still a disingenuous title in my opinion.

Agreed, the paper describing the methodology uses basic techniques, no mention of AI or LLM usage.

Its bizarre and even frustrating to see basic bioinformatics methodology referred to as AI.
AI had become a catch all term for... Everything.
Shall be given to AI bros first. To test it.
