Ask HN: Is anyone building/selling VT220-type terminals?

I would love to have a VT220 replica: same size/feeling, a real keyboard, just text. I would even be fine with RS232, but tbh USB or WiFi would make my life much easier.

Is anyone selling something like this?

Not that I've seen, might be a neat project to build a replica if you have access to a larger format 3D printer.

Owning a VT220/VT320 original has been on my "someday" list for a long time, they rarely appear in the UK though and are expensive enough when they do that I can never quite bring myself to pull the trigger on what would effectively be an "art" installation in the corner of my office.

If the workhorse underneath is a Raspberry Pi with ghosty? Or must be dedicated specialized for purpose hardware?

I don't mind. May even be better, since you get WiFi.

The hard part is the casing/keyboard/screen that replicates the original, but offers modern connectors, power consumption, etc.

I admit it, I don't miss the weight of the CRT screen, but the rest was amazing.
