Maybe we should stop subsidizing students that don't care about the work through federal loans and they should consider going into the trades.

Employers not requiring a college degree if the job doesn't require the education would affect the demand side. De-escalating the snob factor would be a good start too.

What is the value of a college degree trending to anyway as AI takes away most of the premium of knowledge? If it's knowing how to wield LLMs to get your point across to people, using them for your homework is exactly what your education is about.

Degrees like marketing, sports management, hospitality management, and so on are ripe for the LLM world.

Actual college for thinkers to think and learn will have many fewer students than today.
