Republicans like to make a big deal out of them when they're out of power, but never do anything about them when they're in power.
At least this time they bothered pretending for a little bit, with DOGE, but it was clearly about culture wars and not even slightly about budget. Once they punished their enemies, they knocked off early, and even their exaggerated claims are less than 10% of what they said they would do.
