It is a very dangerous slippery slope, and the "instant reward" type of mechanism built into these models has the risk of encouraging short-term thinking.

But it is also nothing new. Technology has been wiring the human brain for short-term thinking. From easily accessible porn, accessing a vast encyclopedia anywhere, at any time, coding questions answered on Stack Overflow, and micro-transactions, AI is just the final puzzle piece.

It is nothing new - and that makes it predictable and scary.

The final puzzle piece to the complete loss of autonomy, independent thinking, and rational discourse that was already facing massive threats.
