I believe that the school curriculum should a course on proper interaction with police. It would include things like the correct way to request a lawyer and how to assert that you will not answer questions (so stop asking). It would make clear what "probable cause" and "reasonable suspicion" are -- not to the level of a lawyer, of course, but enough to know when the police are entitled to do a search and when they aren't.

I'm sure that would be top priority for Louisiana.
