Mobile-Friendliness of Flagging Submissions

On HN

Let me start by saying I generally appreciate the simplicity and conservativeness of HN's design. But one minor quibble I've had for years is the lack of friction for "flagging" a post combined with the overall desktop-first layout.

On mobile, I'll frequently try to click a link but accidentally hit "flag" instead. Since this immediately removes it from the feed, I then have to go into my flagged posts, unflag it, then navigate back to where I was. Sometimes I'll also fail to notice I flagged a post.

I currently have dozens of flagged posts, and ~100% of them were flagged accidentally, so surely this also creates a lot of noise in moderation as well. Have you given any thought to just adding a bit of extra friction there? Perhaps just a second confirmation click?

If you can figure out the right search (I can't, off the top of my head), you'll find a bunch of dang comments saying a fix for this is planned. You can also mail hn@ycombinator.com to demand faster service.
