Nobody actually wants ai shit sandwiches on their phones. If someone figures out how to make it useful Apple has plenty of money to catch up and implement a good enough version. Until then why bother
Perhaps Apple is being cautious about going super deep into AI like, quite literally, every other company? Maybe they see generative video/image/audio as slop, or maybe they don’t think LLMs are going to get much better? Didn’t some of their researchers just release a paper basically saying “LLMs don’t really do what you think they do”?
