Ask HN: Is OpenAI's Operator a Bust?

At launch it felt like the agent product everyone had been describing for the preceding year. Now - I never really hear about it. In personal use I never got or it's kin to accomplish any real work and often ran into captcha/cloudflare blocks.

I've had much more success with Deep Research. Does Operator or any its peer products have any traction? Is this a problem better models will solve or is the root problem that sites don't want to be operated on?
