MCP is only popular because it was proposed and adopted by a large player in this space in the first place. I doubt IBM's teams have that much pull. If Anthropic/oAI/Goog/MS launch something like this, maybe it will become standard. Otherwise, it's back to everyone writing the same thing over and over.
