Depending on the environment cloud software often doesn't let you develop freely. Rarely you can just embed a JS fragment to do a tiny task. Instead you have to develop against the respective sdk of the service/site, publish to a public/corporate store, register the application and put its certificates under surveillance.

This is majorly stupendous, a waste of energy/work/time. Sure, services hope that this way would enrich their environments with third party plugins, but this just reinforces shitty ideas for software deployment.

These aren't professionally managed applications, this is professional dung.
