Ask HN: I once built a domain registrar. How can I make money?
I once built a domain registrar and have a lot of knowledge about how they work. I’d like to put this knowledge to good use and try to build a side business, but it’s hard to find ideas since it seems like domain registration and availability is a commodity.
Is there an opportunity here?

No, these companies are massively scaled now. The only way you could sell domain names is to run a web-host and then sell domain names combined with other services.
You could pretty easily get a job with an existing registrar though.
