Both always write about the results they have now but got the reasoning wrong because the reasoning has to fit their narrative.
We are now in 2025, AMD is simply not doing good enough in every segment. If that is the best they could do in the past 5 years in server, desktop, laptop, mobile, custom ASIC, FPGA, CPU, GPU. Imagine Intel given up on their Fab and only Fabs on TSMC, which they are doing in some product range already.
And that is from someone who brought their stock at below $3 price point.
