The Hatch Act prevents government employees from certain kinds of political activities. That doesn't mean that they can't talk about it on HN, but in general they tend to be leery of making their job political.
You rarely hear from them on HN. Probably more now than ever, since they know they're being targeted.
I was more thinking from a system design/security standpoint...I haven't heard anything about any senior/experienced engineers being used for anything atm ...

I'm actually surprised we haven't heard anything on HN from USDS employees - I'm pretty sure some of them are HN members/readers...
It must be truly chaotic atm with everything from dept. renames/new mgmt to time limited 'buy out' offers...
