Is this a good time to remind people to join Mastodon? I was pleasantly surprised that there is in fact a very well sized community across Mastodon instances.

People flag stuff. I think HN moderators may or may not remove.
I think it's one of the things you get at over 500 karma.
But how does this violates HN policies?
Users flag stories, not the mods. If you have enough points, you van "vouch" for a comment. I don't know if it works at the story level. I don't see that option at least.
I seem to remember being able to vouch for stories. Maybe the karma limits have changed? Or it is also very possible I only remember being able to vouch for comments and confusing the two.
You can only vouch if the story is flagged and dead
Probably wants to avoid incendiary content (that attracts low quality discourse)
It is usually user-based flagging. There is nothing rational about that. I've been in both (flagging/flagged) situations.

Its very similar to what we've been seeing over the past 8 or so years. The only difference is that the shoe is now on the other foot. I wonder if we're going to see the usual echo chambers (reddit, etc) reverse polarity in the coming year.
Are you sure? I dont' remember the equivalent terms being blocked before.
