People are finding a way to squeeze every last drop of blood out of every stone. Bad enough that high end clubs have VIP, bottle service etc, now “they” are coming to make it impossible to even get into a humble dive bar without a fee or a membership.

This is just like how the movies have gone from a great equalizer of reasonably priced entertainment into a “luxury experience” with $30 tickets, $20 buckets of popcorn, etc.

This is just an expected outcome of a free-market, capitalist society: the wealthier you are, the more you can buy yourself priority over others.

It's been the norm in health care, food, and housing for the entire history of the country. A bar line seems tame by comparison.
