Ask HN: Ingenious or Fraud?

At my local 7-Eleven, the checkout counter person always records his own phone number for every sale and earns reward points. Left me wondering, is it a smart hack or fraud? What does the HN community think about it?

Fraud. If somebody dropped a dime on him he'd get fired. Or he could get caught because they took a look for rewards accounts that had made an unreasonable amount of sales. Either way they will have CCTV footage of him doing it over and over again so, if caught, he will be badly busted.
