Ask HN: What are you working towards?

Or in other words, why are you working and what are you hoping to accomplish?

For myself, I am working towards financial semi-independence. I have recently learned about how if you divide the amount of divide an amount of money you’d like a year divided by 4% (a general rate of return), that gives you how much you should be investing. I’m just looking to pay my rent off of it, no more, no less. I’m lucky that my day job has a humanity-aligned goal so I feel generally satisfied with my job. I’m not working on any particular side projects ATM, though I am focused on improving my physical health and form.
