Can that single semiconductor produce other wavelengths in between? Sounds like that would be great for wider colour gamut. If it could change fast enough you could even create a full spectral distribution by scanning faster than human perception.

I'm also wondering how they archive arbitrary colours if the LED can only emit one of the base colours at a time. Rapidly oscillating between the three voltages?
