I read the article and this absolutely stinks of the next step of vendor lock-in, where the person running Deere hardware is forced to maintain an on-going service for 5g and remote cloud services to keep things moving even if the firm is forced to allow farmers to do their own repairs ala 'right to repair'. Opinions?

Crying out for regulation. It would be amusing but also sad to watch the agencies in farming compete with the FCC on this.

Farming tech is strategic tech. It's national interest override stuff. Deere needs to back down or be overridden.
