Ask HN: PC with Hard Switches?

Can anyone recommend a way out of soft switch hell?

Computer power supply with a real switch?

Monitor that can support multiple inputs and remember where it is if it insists on sleeping? Maybe firmware that can at least remember 1k of state?

power strips with a switch are good. Switch the whole desk on one, then the monitors on another subsidiary to that. eat that, standby spyware and power load!

if you want more complication, arduino controlled relay setups are not difficult to construct, and you have the confidence of knowing what they're made of.
