I'm reluctant to change a leading comment character ("#") from being "do not execute" to "execute". I imagine this only works when there's a space after the "#", but I often will comment out a command I've decided I'm not ready to run, to save it in my history for running "in a bit".

Just how fast and loose are people getting with their copy-paste-run workflows that this is necessary?
