I could see a claim for emotional distress based on believing you had won this life changing thing. But on the other hand, anyone can buy a fake winning ticket to prank people and I’ve never heard of a suit moving forward for that.
Course, I’m fairly pessimistic to the whole system and would rather see the lottery done away with as a whole.
