Ask HN: Anyone else migrating off VMware?
We just got sticker shocked at work and so are starting a (prolly year long) migration off VMware. Some stuff headed to Azure but not sure yet about the plan for on-premise stuff. What are others doing?

Keeping my Dell hardware which is no longer supported by VmWare Esxi and moving to Proxmox. Goals: easier backups and better ups integration
Are you a three tier env or running HCI?
The leader in the HCI space is Nutanix and might be what you need to transform your data center. I know Gartner had them in the leader's quadrant often.
