Ask HN: Has anyone used Chapel? What did you think?

I work primarily in scientific computing, so my primary experience is with Julia, Fortran, and to a lesser extent C++ and Python. Chapel looks interesting as a new entrant to the HPC space, but I am curious what people think about it. Maybe I'll give it a go for AoC this year.
