One of my tinfoil-hat conspiracy theories is that the US' 1980's "think of the children" PMRC campaign was aimed less at domestic vulgarity and more —after the culture war success of Disco Demolition Night— at keeping english-language Eurodance safely on the other side of the Atlantic ;-)
