Seems shortsighted. If AIs could copyright what they created, they'd be incentivized to create more, repeating a virtuous cycle.

Ultimately people would benefit as the AIs could buy themselves.

Would be interesting how they differentiate between AI and algorithm. A human prompts for input and then algorithms provide an output. If I made something with a spirograph, as a simple example, would that qualify as a human creations or of the algorithm?
