I absolutely loved my Mazda R100 rotary (had it for 5 years, 1970-1975).

Especially the snarl at 4000 rpm when the second pair of carburettor throats cut in.

I gave up on drag-racing other cars. It just won every time. Except for that time we played cat-and-mouse with a Porsche over about ten miles - the Porsche was the cat.
