Ask HN: Have you ever set up data syncs with a CRM?

Working on a project related to this right now, so I'm looking to better understand the frustrations people have faced with syncing data between CRMs like Salesforce with prod DBs or data warehouses, especially using tools like Heroku Connect or Appflow.

Was there anything particularly painful about setup? Anything you found missing in the tools available?
