Meetings are a point of escalation, not the starting point of a conversation

Whose worked at a company that's done this well?

I try to advocate having good prep & async ahead of time communication so much. People seem to love using meetings for announcements & sharing stuff though.

We made a surprisingly good take on it for our Architecture Design Reviews process at , but we rarely use that process, and it's clear a lot of people don't take enough time to consider & write questions/comments ahead of time like the process says.

Default to transferring context asynchronously. Hold colleagues accountable for being async first. If you receive a meeting invite without context, an agenda, or a read-ahead doc, consider politely declining.
