Ask HN: What information do you find valuable when evaluating software?

I am getting ready to release another open source project out into the wild. I want to know what everyone out there thinks about evaluating a software project as a whole.

Specifically what information do you look for?

Here are some topics I plan to cover: * the purpose of the software * the philosophy of why this application was developed * an in depth summary about the intended audience for the software * a feature comparison between this software and existing solutions * full technical documentation about the software internals

What other topics could I cover in the documentation that you the users find valuable to know?
