There is some discussion here [1] If anyone here has an enterprise account perhaps they could open a ticket and put in a feature request. I don't have one. It might be worth suggesting to just add an IPv6 address on the load balancer to minimize the backend work.

There's a least movement in the right direction, you can use IPv6 for GitHub Pages now.
