Ask HN: Suspended from Twitter while not using it?

I haven't used Twitter in months, but received an email from Twitter stating my account "has been suspended for violating the Twitter Rules. Specifically, for: Violating our rules against platform manipulation and spam."

I logged in and see a similar message, but don't see any evidence of my account being hacked. My last comment was years ago.

What's going on? Did I get banned for the wrong like? Is it something algorithmic? Did this happen to other anyone else here?

I also had a similar experience.

I created an account on Twitter about a year ago but did not use it for anything. No posts, did not follow anybody, etc. I logged in recently and received the "Your account is permanently suspended" message.

Mine was also suspended the same day as yours. Haven’t tweeted in 5 years. Same reason. Have a secure password, and no evidence of a getting hacked. Submitted an appeal.
