How is everyone tracking common usage patterns in physical devices, especially in a B2B context?

With physical devices I mean measurement equipment, mobile/stationary robots, ...

What I am most interested in, is finding out how people use them, what are common patterns among users, how often is it used, ...

I know Mixpanel and co and I guess they could be abused to work for something like that, but they seem to be mostly tailored towards SaaS/E-Commerce.
