Yes, we should deeply look into the research of these administrator-researchers. There is a rector in EU, who published a paper every week with many co-authors; it shows how productive these guys are: just get as many as postdocs possible, then become a co-author.

Tessier-Lavigne should resign, if "these issues have bearing on the data or the results".

It is the same profession that asks students to sign "code of conduct". Probably, these professors should follow what they tell their students.
