Ask HN: Is there a site or service for finding academic collaborators?

Amongst other things I'm an academic researcher, mostly interested in data - uses, management, performance. My institution has only a small compsci department (mostly teaching staff rather than research staff) with very few folks interested in this area.

Does anyone know of an academic service or site that can match up academics based on research interests?

Or, given where I'm posting this, does anyone want to go full steam ahead with a startup and HMU in about a year when you've got it running? :)

It's certainly the kind of service I'd pay a monthly sub for.
