As a hobby, I make music videos of songs I like. I look for footage in YouTube, Vimeo,… with yt-dlp.
For video tutorials, I used to use Kdenlive, but it crashed a lot. Nonetheless, it's nice to practice cutting. For example, to remove the empty time between characters when typing.
