Am I the only one who has zero interest in strapping on reality 2.0 on my head, especially if it's the product of an American corporation whose only real goal is to make max $$?
What companies have access the the Iris mapping data?
Is the DoD keeping an eye on this? No pun intend I'm sure my Iris data has been revoked but there are so many people with access to open doors with their eyes.
Even if the article explicitly stated they did not collect biometric data I would not believe it for a femtosecond. That data is too tempting for big-data hoarders to not collect. From the times I had to use iris scanners they could tell from the iris scan if anyone had done drugs, had health issues or was under duress and this was in the 90's. Combine this data with the things people say in VR and their body language and one could psych-profile all future generations. All the data scientists I've had to work with would do anything for that data.

the article mentioned eye tracking data in the sense of eye movement, not iris biometrics.
Not that Meta wouldn't do it if they could.
