Ask HN: Service for copyright owners to track/monitor infringements?

In light of the recent attempts by law makers to pass SOPA, PROTECT-IP and similar bills, is there an opportunity to create a service that enables copyright owners to track infringing uses of their work? For example, the studios behind a movie would use the service to track websites that post links to illegal file downloads of the movie, artists would be able to monitor various warez forums for threads sharing their mp3 files, etc.

Even if these bills don't pass, would copyright owners still benefit from such a service which would enable them to quickly detect infringements and issue DMCA notices?

Any thoughts on this?

I personally oppose these bills, but was wondering if they are creating an opportunity?
