My diagnosis is severe case of ligma.

I always thought tarball was a rather casual term rather than technical. Maybe something like 'tar archive' is more appropriate for technical documentation?

Although I do thoroughly enjoy it when information changes or gets lost in translation. It can be hilarious, like this situation.

My understanding was that "tar" originated as an abbreviation of "tape archive", so you'd be getting into recursive territory, and they'd never stand for that in the GNU world, would they?
