Due to design defects, the Moka Pot, on occasion, would build up so much pressure that it would explode.
Even with the safety valve? If it failed to work, then it was a manufacturing defect for me.
Overall, moka pots are very finicky and I have to agree that some manufacturers don't get it right, resulting in burnt coffee splattering from the pillar instead of flowing gently.
