Should I wipe my MacBook before repair?

I need to take my MacBook Pro in for repairs. It looks like it needs a new battery.

I am concerned about the security of my accounts and the information I have on the computer. A Time Machine backup + factory reset[0] seems to address those concerns.

Would be curious to learn other people thoughts/recommendations. — [0]https://9to5mac.com/2021/03/11/how-to-factory-reset-macbook-pro/

Yeah, why not, if you are concerned about your privacy? I recently got my MacBook Air back from the repair for the same problem. It was a friend's place so I didn't really have much problems and I didn't factory reset, but I wouldn't really trust someone I didn't know about my sensitive data. I think you should wipe your Mac anyway, given how seamless Time Machine recovery is nowadays.
