Are humans more adapted to “light mode” or “dark mode”?

I have my phone set to dark mode. It is clearly the way god intended smart phones to work --- increased backlight and battery life.

Unfortunately, god deviated from this plan once he heard the devil preferred dark. So being strictly anti-devil, he designed the rest of the universe around the production and detection of light, not dark. The human eyeball got caught up in this anti-pattern too.

I wish there were the opposite of light bulbs that produce darkness
