Ask HN: Copyleft Model for Literature?

Hey!

Does anyone see a Copyleft Licensing Model being "Mainstream Embraced" for literature, in the way that it has worked for operating systems like Linux?

Specifically one like the Creative Commons CC BY-SA ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ ) licensing model, for the purpose of creative collaboration that is simultaneously worthy of a "Commericialy Viable Pursuit" .. assuming such a thing applies to quality books in the first place ;)

Genuinely curious. Am an "aspiring writer" who is into World/Character creation but don't have anyone to talk about these kinds of ideas with.

Any insight would be appreciated.
