Cool. Is the fund donating all proceeds/profits somewhere? Otherwise it just seems like meaningless virtue signaling to me, perhaps with the real motive being to limit the negative impact the unwinding of their position has on the value of their holding.
As the article states, Soros has donated billions personally. For example, he created Open Society Foundations: https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/. The number I’ve seen a few times is $32 billion in philanthropy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Soros). Complaining about what the fund did with $175 million seems ridiculous.
