Ask HN: Trying to find emulator that loads PNGs

Hi,

I remember someone had posted on here awhile ago about an intentionally limited emulator that loads games that are entirely stored within their own cover art. I have Google'd everywhere and can't seem to find it. Kind of like the js1kb competition, but the important thing was that the WHOLE game had to be within it's own PNG file. Thank you!

First I searched for "hidden game cover art" (adding "site:news.ycombinator.com") and when I didn't get results, I searched for "hidden game in url" since I remembered that some poster pointed this out in the comments :)

I think you are referring to the fantasy console PICO-8 [1] which has "carts" that are games inside of a PNG container [2].
