Ask HN: Fighting Covid-19

Hello, everyone. If you want to help fight the virus, there's some things you can do. You can donate your computing power (your gaming PCs preferably) to https://foldingathome.org/ and https://boinc.bakerlab.org/, and you can also get your hands dirty and try to design a protein that inhibits the virus on https://fold.it/. It doesn't matter what's your background, it might be you that finds a viable solution.

If you know other people that have some spare computing power on their hands, or some available time and are willing to take a shot at the most critical puzzle of the moment, please share.

I have some questions for the community (this is why this is an Ask HN): - are there other ways developers can help in finding a solution? - is there some kind of programmable way to accomplish what fold.it does, with comparable ease? it would be very nice to be able to express the protein as code, instead of manually designing it with the mouse. - do you know some good resources for people to learn from scratch how to design solutions for this? much of what is available is for specialists in the field, but maybe there are some easier to consume tutorials / references / handbooks
